Moonta Medical Centre is an Accredited General Practice that has been serving the community since 1991. It is located in the Copper Triangle two hour’s drive North of Adelaide.

DOCTORS

Dr Asif Ashraf

M.B.B.S, F.R.A.C.G.P

Dr Ashraf is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and has 15 years experience in General & Emergency Medicine. He is the Principal GP of the practice and is a Supervisor to junior doctors and Medical Students.

He has a special interest in Dermatology, excision of skin lesions and Chronic Disease Management.

Dr Shafiq Mughal

M.B.B.S, F.R.A.C.G.P, FARGP, MFamMed,DA

Dr Shafiq has joined Moonta Medical Practice as a Co- Principal GP of the practice and will be consulting regularly two to three days a week. He will also be Supervisor to junior doctors and Medical Students.
Dr Shafiq has more than 30 years of general practice experience and has worked in South Africa, Middle East, Pakistan and Australia. He is committed to rural SA and has worked in Port Augusta, Whyalla and Roxby Downs as a GP for 12 years.
He has a special interest in Chronic Disease Management.

Dr Satinee Chucherd

BMED

Dr Satinee graduated form School of Medicine at The University of New England(JMP), Armidale NSW.

She completed her internship, residency and Emergency Medicine Certificate in Illawarra Shoalhaven local health district in NSW.

Dr Satinee has a special interest in skin conditions and skin cancer.

She can speak Thai and enjoys Pilates, photography and Geology.

Dr Syed Zaidi

MBBS,FRACGP

Dr Zaidi graduated from Pakistan in 2002. He worked in General practice in Pakistan for few years then moved to Saudia Arabia and worked in family medicine and emergency for 10 years. He has strong interest in chronic disease management and palliative care.

Dr Raaid Halool

MBBS

Dr Halool graduated in 2013 and worked overseas in General Practice before moving to Australia. He has a special interest in ENT (ear, nose & throat), Paediatrics, Minor skin procedures and Chronic Disease Management.

Outside medicine he loves sport, especially tennis & soccer  and is a registered soccer referee with Football SA.

Dr Zahid Shaheen

MBBS, FRACGP

Dr Zahid Shaheen is a Fellow of Royal Australian College of General Practitioners(FRACGP).

He has 28 years of clinical experience including  Gynecology, E.N.T, Paediatrics, General Surgery and General Medicine in busy teaching hospitals overseas, before taking General Practice as his field of interest.

Dr Shaheen has been involved in teaching medical students from Adelaide University, SA University and Flinders University for 7 years while working as a GP in Adelaide.

Dr Shaheen has special interest in Mental Health, skin care and checks, skin biopsies, implanon insertion and removal, child and adult immunisations, chronic disease management.

Dr Bharti Dua

MBBS

Dr Bharti graduated from India in 2002. She has been working in Australia since 2020.
Dr Bharti consults all aspects of General Practice with a special interest in management of Chronic disease, Mental health, womens and childrens health. She is approachable and compassionate.
She speaks Hindi and Punjabi.
Dr Bharti enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with her family.

Dr Atefeh Borjikhaniavanaki

MBBS

Dr Atefeh is a medical graduate from Iran and joined the Australian community in 2017, where she lived in Brisbane and Adelaide.

She obtained her Australian Medical Council certificate in 2019 and worked as a Resident Medical Officer in Flinders and Noarlunga Medical Centres in 2020.

Dr Atefeh has been involved in medical students education during her residency and has  provided support to other overseas doctors by running bridging courses and tuitions.
She has recently joined the Moonta Medical Centre and is passionate to be a member of the rural community.

In her spare time, she does painting, Pilates, gardening and enjoys her time with her family

Dr Maheen Ahmer

MBBS

Dr Maheen is a compassionate General Practitioner with a special interest in Chronic disease management, Women’s health, and Children’s health.
She is approachable and caring, taking the time to understand her patients’ concerns and provide personalized care.

Dr. Maheen is fluent in English, Urdu, and Punjabi

Allowing her to connect with patients from diverse backgrounds and ensure their needs are met.

 

Dr Suganya Nedumaran

MBBS
Dr. Suganya (Sugi) is a qualified medical professional who has completed her MBBS at Madras Medical College, India, followed by studying in the UK.

After moving to Adelaide, Dr. Suganya has worked at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga Hospital, gaining broad experience in hospital and community-based care.

Dr Hiren Patel

General Practitioner, Male, MBBS

Dr Patel graduated in 2012 from India and has been living in Australia since 2013. Dr Patel has been working as a Resident Medical Officer at Mildura Base Public Hospital and has experience working in various specialties. Dr Patel has been closely  involved in medical education committee and junior medical advisory group at Mildura Base Public Hospital.

Dr Patel practices all aspects of general practice with a special interest in chronic disease management, small procedures and children’s health. He is fluent in English, Hindi and Gujarati.

Outside work, Dr Patel enjoys outdoor adventures, snorkeling, hiking and spending quality time with family.
