Having a safe and effective COVID-19 vaccine is one way we can protect our community against coronavirus.
COVID-19 vaccines help to prevent serious illness and death from COVID-19, and they are free for everyone in Australia.
Moonta Medical Centre is pleased to advise that we are an approved vaccination provider for COVID-19 vaccines.
We are happy to help provide COVID-19 Immunisation for our existing patients due to limited allocation of vaccines.
COVID-19 vaccines are being rolled out to people in phases, with those most at risk receiving their vaccinations first.
To find out if you are eligible to receive the vaccine now, visit https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility and complete the COVID-19 Vaccine Eligibility Checker.
You can then make a booking to receive your vaccine.
COVID-19 vaccinations are voluntary and free.
When it is your turn to get vaccinated, you can call us on 88232002 to book your appointments to get your first and second doses of the vaccine.
Make sure you book an appointment for your first and second doses. Please give us a call if you need to confirm what the timing should be between the appointments.
We would like to welcome new doctors to the practice.
Dr Rachel Ganthala who moved to Moonta from Melbourne where she worked as a General Practitioner. She has a special interest in Womens and Child Health.
Dr Raaid Halool has worked overseas in General Practice before moving to Australia. He has special interest in Paediatrics, minor procedures & Chronic Disease Management.
Dr Kamila Wilczynska is a GP Registrar who completed her Doctor of Medicine degree overseas and then finished her internship in England before moving to Australia and working at Flinders Medical Centre. Her interests include Chronic Disease Management and Emergency Medicine.
Patients will now receive a SMS message on their mobile asking them to make an appointment to follow up any abnormal results. A doctor or nurse will still contact those patients who don’t receive mobile messages or don’t have an appointment. If you have not heard from a doctor or nurse about your results, call between 2.00 and 4.00 pm daily to speak to a nurse or make an appointment to discuss further.
Medical students from Adelaide University who are in their 5th year of medical training will be placed at the practice throughout the year. During this time, they will have consulting experience assisting the doctors with patient care.
Recall and Reminders
Our practice is committed to preventative health care. We may issue you with a reminder notice from time to time offering services appropriate to your care. If you do not wish to be a part of this system, please let your doctor, nurse or receptionist know.
